Unveiling of Hon. Ade Ipaye UNDER -13, 5-ASIDE Football Competition

AKOKA CDA unveils Hon. Ade Ipaye UNDER-13, 5-ASIDE FOOTBAL COMPETITION. The anticipated sixth edition of the competition will commence on the 9th to the 12th of August 2019. A knock out competition and the participating teams were picked from Akoka and other communities around Lagos.

Everyone was well represented. MR Segun Adesanya, Chairman Akoka CDA, DPO, Bariga Police Division, CSP Shamang Kalat, Alhaji Supo Kazeem, National coordinator BOYSI, Coach Babatunde Oluwo, Head of technical committee Akoka CDA, Mrs. Funke Buchi Head of Logistics, coaches of the 16 participating football academy, residents within and around the community  and members of the media.

While some communities are laid back waiting for government intervention in respect to obvious and relevant dilapidated community structures and values. But, in Akoka, it is a different ball game entirely because the CDA has been up and doing.

In the words of AKOKA CDA chairman Mr. Segun Adesanya, he said the UNDER-13, 5-ASIDE FOOTBAL COMPETITION was aimed at providing the platform for talented young children to actualize their dream of making a career in football and education.

He said: “I can assure you that the competition will get bigger every year. Even though people might want to underrate the competition, this year promises to be bigger as the first prize winner is to take home 75,000 Naira and the last four teams will be given complete jerseys”

He shows his appreciation to Hon. Ade Ipaye, and he has this to say about him “He is one man who needs to be recognized, he has contributed a lot to the community. Despite his busy schedule, he has always created time for the concerns of AkOKA CDA community”

The DPO, Bariga Police Division, CSP Shamang Kalat, said playing football was something he was passionate about hence catching the young kids up at the age of 13 is a very laudable step promoted by the AKOKA CDA and that there level of organization have really captured his attention haven showed a high level of focus and commitment.

He said: “Sport is source of unity that gives us sense of identity” and he is positive about this tournament and the Akoka community.    

In a live phone call conversation from Abuja, Hon. Ade Ipaye, Chief of Staff to the Vice President and former Attorney General of Lagos State.                                                                  

 Mr. Babatunde Oluwo conducted the draws for the participating teams. The opening game will be played by Akoka Stars VS Sholly Babes on the 9th of August. And the LOC will communicate with the participating football academies other relevant information’s, as they work ensure a hitch-free football competition.

Best behaved team award

DPO, Bariga Police Division, CSP Shamang Kalat unveiled the trophy and the jerseys for the four semi finalist, while he also suggest that the organizers to endeavor to add another trophy to ensure everyone goes home with something.
